PROGRAM

  • Sculptures by world-renowned artists will be exhibited across multiple sites at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro. 

  • Artworks will include existing pieces from regional institutions, global collections, local galleries, as well as new commissions.

  • Programming will highlight the culture and geography of the region, integrating materials commonly found at the Port.

  • STEAM education for K-12 youth, and students of all ages, will include hands-on opportunities to create 3D art.

  • An immersive gallery and event venue will offer digital experiences and showcase the intersection of art, ideas and technology.

  • A community garden will create a neighborhood gathering place.


IMPACT

  • Develop new opportunities for cultural tourism and economic development in civic spaces at the Port of Los Angeles.

  • Enhance public access, visitor engagement and social connectivity with public art and cultural gateways per the San Pedro Waterfront Connectivity Plan and Port of Los Angeles Master Plan.

  • Model an environmentally-conscious approach to experiencing civic space with emphasis on the ocean and natural environment.

  • Create an global destination for experiencing civic art in Los Angeles, developed at scale for the 2028 Olympics.
